Alpharetta, GA – Before being arrested a shoplifter asked police if he could smoke his marijuana cigarette before being taken to jail.

A police spokesman said that several stores in North Point Mall reported that they were tracking a suspected shoplifter. The man had walked into the area near the Chick-Fil-A and Marta bus stop where he was then stopped by security.

The shoplifting suspect, Darrien Dangelo White, age 29, of Conley, Georgia, was positively identified as the man who stole two Kate Spade handbags, valued at nearly $200 each. The purses were found in his possession.

Also found on the man was a metal cigar holder containing a marijuana cigarette. The alleged shoplifter admitted that the marijuana cigarette was his, then shockingly he asked police if he could smoke his marijuana before being taken to jail.

Darrien White also had a outstanding warrant for shoplifting out of Athens/Clarke County.

He was arrested and taken to jail for shoplifting, possession of marijuana and outstanding warrant.

He was not allowed to smoke his dope before being arrested and incarcerated.
