A man suspected of breaking into a Roswell home and fighting with the homeowner with a knife has been arrested by Roswell police.

The home invasion occurred at 9:00 am on October 18th on Hembree Grove Overlook. The man’s name is Robert Earl Foster. The suspect is African American, 27 years old and homeless.

He allegedly broke into the home from the rear of the house and surprised the home owner who was at home at the time of the crime. The home invader was wearing a mask and he was armed with a long knife. The burglar/home invader and the homeowner subsequently got into a fight. Both became injured during the bloody fight. During the dangerous encounter the homeowner managed to break free where he barricaded himself into a bedroom. However, the intruder managed to violently break through the door and then tie up the homeowner.

Foster fled after taking jewelry from the home after a while the victim managed to break free and call 911. This led to police organized manhunt. Local schools were also placed on lockdown.

On October 28th a Roswell policeman arrested Foster and seeing him and noticed the wounds on him were consistent with the victim’s description. Foster was arrested on charges of burglary, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and theft by taking.
