August 3, 2020 – Boca Raton, FL – Google has committed to purchase $450 million in ADT stock to purchase 6.6% of the company. Google will now partner with ADT to provide Googles’ Nest smart home technology to ADT’s customers. One of Googles’ Nest products is a sleek, aesthetically pleasing Smart Home thermostat.
Google has been impressed with ADT’s vast experience in the home security industry. This new alliance also gives Google a large footprint of coverage for their offerings through the ADT network of branch offices and dealer offices. ADT is by far the biggest home security company in the United States.
Google has also committed $150 million dollars to jointly develop smart home technology offerings with ADT. ADT has also committed $150,000 million dollars as well to the joint smart home technology endeavor.
