For the second time in a week Alpharetta, GA was the site of a shooting. A woman is now in the hospital after police were forced to shoot her on September 25, 2013.

Alpharetta police received a call at approximately 6:00 pm that day about a woman who sent a disturbing text message. Officers then went to the woman’s Woodhaven Way home, off Haynes Bridge Road in Alpharetta.

When they entered her home the encountered a woman whom they reported was emotionally upset. The woman then fled into another part of her home. She then retrieved a firearm and pointed it at one of the policemen. The other police officer then fired upon the woman, believing she was about to shoot the other police officer. After being given emergency medical treatment by EMS on site and was taken to North Fulton Hospital. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was subsequently contacted by Alpharetta Public Safety and is now conducting a full investigation of this incident.

Atlanta area law enforcement authorities are reporting that crimes of all types are becoming more frequent in North Atlanta including the upscale areas of John’s Creek, Alpharetta, Roswell, and Milton, Georgia.
