Relatively affluent citizens of Alpharetta have always felt that they were insulated and protected from rampant Metro Atlanta criminal activities. That has proven to be a myth.

An Alpharetta man is among two dozen members of a motorcycle gang found guilty of drug dealing and serious weapons offenses.

Howard Haney, age 44, of Alpharetta, Georgia, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute the drug. Mr. Haney was found guilty and sentenced to ten (10) years in prison. Haney was arrested as part of a long term investigation of motorcycle gangs in the North Georgia Area whose members were suspected of drug trafficking and illegal gun and explosives charges.

At the start of 2010 the FBI performed a long term undercover investigation in Northern Georgia into allegations that members of certain motorcycle clubs were engaged in various forms of criminal activity including drug distribution, illegal fire arms and explosives offenses.

On August 16, 2012 22 (twenty two) defendants were arrested for a drug, firearms, and obstruction of justice charges. Six other defendants were arrested later.
